HTC One Google Play Edition

Apparently the folks who have been keeping tabs on the HTC One Google Play Edition have discovered that this particular smartphone was spotted over at the Bluetooth SIG. This particular model picked up certification approval for Bluetooth on July 5th, which was not too long after the application itself was filed on June 18th. The HTC One Google Play Edition apparently carried the model number PN071, which would reflect the fact that this happens to be a stock Android handset that can be purchased over from the Google Play Store. Since this is a Google Play Edition model, the smartphone will be on the receiving end of quick operating system updates straight from Google without having to go through various testing phases which have often slowed down the process if history were to be of any indication. This does beg the question – is there any reason for a device that has already been approved for Bluetooth have to go through the entire certification process yet again? The answer is clear and simple, it could be attributed to the Android 4.3 update that will see the inclusion of Bluetooth 4.0 LE support, which happens to be the Low Energy version of Bluetooth so that handsets can synchronize with various accessories such as heart rate monitors, thermometers and other similar monitors. : http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/07/htc-one-google-play-edition-spotted-at-bluetooth-sig/
